New message notifications aren't clearing on Android app

I keep seeing "new" message notifications when I open the message center in the app. They are not new.

 Have read these several times.

 

 

App version 9.77.0, Android version 14

We were just discussing this on a different thread a couple hours ago. My dot will clear then come right back. There's no logic to it.

I've been having this on and off for the last couple of weeks. After a while it always seems to go away for me.

I have had this problem since late December. I put in a ticket in early January, and I've followed up a couple times since then, but each time I've been told that they haven't made any progress.

I finally figured out a way to get that annoying blue dot to go away.  I even had a couple that were from literally years ago that were still marked with a blue dot even though it had been read and reread and reread with the dot stubbornly remaining.  I just sent a smiley face emoji "reply" and voila!  The annoying blue dots disappeared!  I'm sure the ones that were a few years old couldn't figure out why I just sent them a 😊!  Hope this works for you too.
