More Issues With Website Map

I posted several months ago about some issues I was having with the website map.  Not only have these issues never been resolved, but things have gotten worse.

Now, not only does the map zoom way out as the default setting, but when I go to "Search Geocaches" mode, there is no longer an option to zoom in, making it completely unusable.  I can't be the only person experiencing this, can I?

There is no zoom in/out option on the Browse map for me, using Firefox. I thought I was losing my mind! When I click on Search, the zoom function appears as expected.

Edit: Using firefox.

For me, if I access either the search map or browse map, they load as they usually do and have all the usual zoom functionality (in Firefox).

Some more details might be helpful. There isn't enough detail in these posts for anyone to try to replicate the issue (and it isn't totally clear what the issue even is). Is there some specific way each of you are accessing the maps that's resulting in unexpected behaviour?

Firefox:

Home page of geocaching. Click on Play, then View Map. It is very zoomed out, with no zoom function plus/minus sign.

I then click on Search Geocaches button, and the zoom feature is back.

My search map also defaults to zoom 11, but that makes sense because it's the level required to show the 1000 results around my home location. I don't know if others would get something different with different spreads of caches.

What you describe sounds more like you're starting with the browse map (Play > View Browse Map), and then toggling over to the search map. My browse map defaults to zoom 14, and the zoom controls are at the top-left along with a "Find My Location" button. Those are all missing? Do you use any browser extensions that modify things, like GClh or Tampermonkey? Maybe something like that isn't working right.

My browse map has also lost its zoom and "find my location" buttons:

I'm using Firefox 139.0.1 on Windows 10. I can still zoom with the mouse wheel though, and the search map has all its buttons.

Ah, barefootjeff's screenshot pointed me to where the issue is. I've always had my browse map preferences* set to use Leaflet, for which there don't seem to be any issues. However, if I switch over to Google, I see what you see: controls are at the bottom-right, the layer drop-down is misplaced halfway up the right side, and the full-screen button is also misplaced.

My guess is that something got updated with the Google Maps integration and that has broken some things.
