Plenty of ideas in http://ubbx.Groundspeak.com/6/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=5726007311&f=7116058331&m=71960755&r=71260855, http://ubbx.Groundspeak.com/6/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=5726007311&f=7116058331&m=44960251&r=36960251, and http://ubbx.Groundspeak.com/6/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=5726007311&f=4016058331&m=6746071791&r=8746071791.

I pretty much stand by plastic & plexiglass polish that you can get from your local auto parts store. Follow that up with a lens protector for the screen and you're good to go for life ( http://strongengineering.com/ has a decent protector at a nice price).

Hey cool! thanks.

I'm thinking about taking it to the jeweler and get it done professionally.

What if I don't have a dremel. How much polishing needs to be done?? How long do you sit and rub the screen with polish?

thanks

How deep are the scratches? If it is a semi deep scratch, don't even bother. You will do more damage than good. If it is more like a scuff may be possible to buff it out.

Deep scratches would call for grinding the screen with a few different grits of abrasive polish and the more you sand off the screen the less protection it will have from another fall. Also your chances of getting it clear is going to take a lot of elbow grease, if it ever comes clear again.

Unless it is really affecting the way you read the screen, mark it off as a battle wound. The yellow is cheap to replace or at least cheap enough to buy a new one rather than have the bezel fixed on an old one.

Yeah thats exactly what I'm thinking. I'm not even going to bother with it. It's a pretty significant scratch, but it doesn't affect reading the screen at all.

the dremel tool is is just a bonus that i had. as for how long, depends on the scratches but the abrasive is in a paste like rubbing compound so simply rub with a lint free cloth (i use dvd/cd wipes) and reapply as needed. i use this on my gps, 2-way a/v remote etc. these compounds are for dvd/cd touch-ups and do a good job.

as got how long, that depends on the scratches but i just give 5-10 minutes every now and then and it works to remove most of the wear and tear you get from normal use, as mentioned deeps gouges require a polishing tool---dremel and some patience but is possible.

Try one of those polishing kits for CD's. They work fairly well on CD's and I imagine they would do the same for the screen without too much chance of damaging it. If it doesn't work, save it for your CD's and try something of greater strength. Those kits work great on data or music CD's.
