Guest Ethan
How much can you fit on a 16 MB Garmin memory card? (Yes, I know, 16 MB-worth ;-) ) The cards are fairly expensive. Anyone have any experience with the off-brand compatible memory? (www.gpsmemory.com) It's much cheaper than the Garmin memory. Quote Link to comment
jbwcpa
It really depends on what type of area you are downloading. The greater Cincinnati area (inside the I-275 loop) without autorouting info take about 5mb. Other map zones without large cities may only take a 2mb even though they encompass an area many times larger than greater Cincinnati. It mainly depends on the amout of street, address and points of interest data that must be downloaded in the area. The only way to figure out how much you really need is to go into Metroguide and start clicking on the areas you want. Metroguide will tell you how much data it is. Also, if you don't have the newer Metroguide released in 2001, GET IT. The data is better and the download zones are smaller. Quote Link to comment

+auwee
When you go to buy memory sticks. Check all the sticks in the stack for wrong price marking. I was at Frys Elect. and found a 32MB memory stick marked with a price of a 16MB. Don't know about off brand stick. Quote Link to comment
