Popular Post +Froggiewalker Posted May 17 Popular Post Posted May 17 (edited) Hi, could You please add links to Mapy.com map server to the cache listing "For online maps..." section for all geocaches? Mapy.com used to be Mapy.cz and it is already linked for Czech geocache listings. The URL scheme is the same. Mapy.com recently expanded abroad and have coverage of the whole world. They are high quality maps mainly for hiking. They are very popular with Czech geocachers and they start to be popular worldwide. Thank You and have a great day, Jonáš / Froggiewalker Edited May 19 by Froggiewalker Better explanation 39 1 1 Quote
+Marty Posted May 19 Posted May 19 (edited) I am definitely in favor of adding this map base. Please also add it as a selected map base here: https://www.geocaching.com/map/ Rozhodně jsem pro přidání tohoto mapového podkladu. Prosím, přidejte ho také jako vybraný mapový podklad zde: https://www.geocaching.com/map/ Edited May 19 by Marty 3 Quote
+Viajero Perdido Posted May 19 Posted May 19 Oh wow, that's a beautiful map style. And it's OSM no less. Looks like those are vector tiles (an emerging technology), so Groundspeak could maybe add them to the Search Map which already handles vector tiles (as best I can tell), but adding to the Browse Map just ain't gonna happen. Thank You for supporting my idea. Maybe I wrote it a bit unclear, but I'm not talking about the base layer in the geocaching map (although that would be absolutely great), but only about the link to the maps at the bottom of the cache listing, the "For online maps..." section. I'll try to improve it in the original post. Quote
+Viajero Perdido Posted May 19 Posted May 19 (edited) Best of luck. I think they rarely look at that part of the cache page; it could certainly use an overhaul. At least prehistoric mytopo (scanned map sheets from the pre-railroad era) is finally gone, but nobody seems to have clicked MapQuest in a long time to see what pops up. "7076 County Road 13", ha. +storm_hellscream Posted May 20 Posted May 20 Mapy.com are one of the best maps available and they should be as integrated with geocaching as possible. 1 Quote
