Trouble with navigation.

I am having trouble with navigation.   When I start the navigation to go to gc,  the blue navigation arrow never moves.  Not sure what is wrong, worked fine yesterday.   Any suggestions?  Ty in advance.

I am not having trouble with that issue. But yesterday the navigation was taking me, via the blue line, to somewhere crazy far away. I refreshed and it worked as expected. I will keep a watch out for what you describe.

The navigation feature no longer updates the blue line from my location to the cache (all 5 map terrains), however the distance to the cache does update).  Selecting the compass and then going back to navigate cause "ghost' blue arrows which point in random directions.  Also the compass freezes whenever in "navigation mode".  Selecting driving directions works on both waze and maps.  When going back to the internal navigation, the map will again freeze with the distance to the cache again updating.  Reloaded maps and geocaching with no results.  I am using the app on an Android (Samsung Galaxy 23+).  Last functional use was 4/20/25.  Problem first discovered 4/26/25.

I'm having this same issue and it's so frustrating! The app tells me how far away I am from the cache, but the rest of the navigation isn't working. I hope someone fixes the app soon.

I've been following this thread, and although I had no such issue, today I do.  I found that I had become logged out of The App, and so I logged in.  Now as per the OP, the Navigation Map with its directional blue line does not rotate with phone rotation, and the little blue arrow also doesn't turn.  And if I scroll the map, there's a "Re-center" icon that pops up, and doesn't seem to do anything if tapped... it just disappears.  With two fingers, I can turn the whole map, but it isn't turning automatically.

The compass screen seems to work as usual, it turns with the phone, it's not stuck.  Another oddity is, if I select the compass screen, and then return to the Navigation screen, the map and the blue arrow have each rotated to a random angle, and then froze in place again.

I tested "Keep map north up" on and off, in the Navigation settings, no effect.  Next I uninstalled and reinstalled the App, same thing.

I have had this problem for the last couple of weeks now.

The blue line doesn't move and there ghost arrows.

This is the hardware and software Im using

Samsung A23 5G phone running Android 14, (I have been using this phone for a year with no problems)

App version 9.75.0.

This is what i have done,

Initially cleared cache and data, no change.

I have now uninstalled and re-installed the App, no change.

The App has permissions to use Precise Location and location is on. The compass mode works fine on the App

The keep map north is toggled on.

He is the strange thing, when I toggle the " Keep map north" to off. The directional arrow and line works perfectly but only for mystery s and multis, Traditional caches still don't move.

I have tried changing the coordinates of a traditional on a browser to see if it works, but still doesn't.

I really hope this bug can be sorted or some one can show me how to fix.

Yep, I can confirm I'm having this exact issue with only traditionals for some reason. I was caching with my Dad yesterday with two separate devices and we both had the same issue.

I also have the same problem, I have to get round it by selectiNg the cache but not navigating to it, then at least I can see if I am moving towards the cache. Or using google maps to navigate. Both highly annoying in their own way.

There has been a change on mine, but it isnt as it was.

The keep map north is still toggled to off. but now the map moves on all off the caches while navigating, which is a help.

But what i really want is the map fixed to north and the arrow and line to move

The toggle is set to off by default in the navigation settings. Once you toggle it on, the map will be fixed to north.

Yes i can fix the map to north, then i have no navigation at all as the Map, arrow and line will not move at all.

The navigation was working fine up to a couple of weeks ago, is there an update on a fix for this.

I am having issues with the navigation as well. It seemed like it was only for Traditional caches. An update was downloaded and it seemed to be resolved.

This weekend, none of the cache types are working correctly. Android (Google Pixel).

V 9.76.1 Android pixel.

I've been testing this out today and everything seems to be navigating as expected to multiple cache types. Just letting you know, that it's working for me at the moment.

This problem is still happening on Android Samsung S21+ on GC app version 9.76.1

Oddly enough I also have an iPhone Xr which DOESN'T have the problem on GC app version 9.76.0.  I don't know if this is the latest iOS app version, but I dare not try upgrading in case.

Either that, or its an Android-only bug.

The only 2 symptoms I've noticed so far:

1. North-up on the map doesn't work, no matter what the settings are.  This is annoying but you can work around it.

2. Filter button is missing!  Well, that's a pretty critical feature that can't be ignored.

It seems this bug has been around for weeks?  Hey GC HQ?  How about rolling back to an earlier known working version and re-release that as 9.76.2, so you can take more time to fix this bug and extend us some relief in the meantime?

Thanks
