+trollers Posted April 23 Posted April 23 Is there a reason why Geocaching haven't released / can't release souvenirs for England, Wales and Scotland? I understand the reason why the UK is treated as one country on the Geocaching website - however it would only seem right to be able to collect souvenirs for it's constituent countries when other countries (e.g. Ireland) have souvenirs for their provinces / states? +MartyBartfast Posted April 23 Posted April 23 (edited) Partly it would be because (I think) Groundspeak don't have any geographical regions for the home countries, the regions are UK for the whole, and then Southern England, West Midlands, South Wales, North Wales, Southern Scotland, Northern Scotland, etc. So they could create souvenirs for those regions. I guess they could create country souvenirs which are awarded when you log a cache in any of the constituent regions which make up that country but that would probably require specific coding for this scenario which is probably too much effort. +MartyBartfast Posted April 23 Posted April 23 I do know that years ago the artwork was created for the home countries, I think the England one had a picture of Stonehenge, so perhaps they were thinking of doing them but didn't proceed with it. Quote
