+CheesyD Posted September 27, 2003 Posted September 27, 2003 I have been out of geocaching for awhile. Sold my Meriplat and everything that I had to go with it. Now I'm looking to take geocaching up again and am considering a SporTrak Map. I have Topo loaded on my PC (but no CD) from when I bought my MeriPlat. Will I be able to utilize the Topo I have on my PC with a new SporTrak Map or will I need to buy another CD copy of Topo? +TotemLake Posted September 27, 2003 Posted September 27, 2003 Should work with no problems bearing in mind without the CD you don't really have a legal license. Cheers! TL Quote
+2dest Posted September 27, 2003 Posted September 27, 2003 When I installed mine, I had a choice of a full installation or partial that requires the CD each use (to save disc space). I would think it depended on which installation you chose as to whether you need the CD or not. Quote
+Brian - Team A.I. Posted September 27, 2003 Posted September 27, 2003 There may also be a simple registry hack, similar to the one for MapSource Topo. I simply had to copy the directory from the CD to the HD, then edit the registry key pointing to the CD-ROM, changing it to the location of the file directory. It's 100x quicker now. Brian Team A.I. The King Kachers Posted October 3, 2003 Posted October 3, 2003 Not sure about New Mexico, but in North Carolina, Radio Shack is throwing in the Mapsend Topo CD with the purchase of the Sportrak Map. I thought that was a pretty good deal. Quote
