thcri Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 Does anyone know if you can add more Waypoint Symbols to your GPS? There is a good variety of them in my Garmin E-trex Vista but every so often I would like a few more. murph Quote
+Team DEMP Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 Based on notes I've seen in firmware updates for my GPS V, the symbols are part of the firmware, so the answer is you can't. Quote
+Rich in NEPA Posted July 23, 2003 Posted July 23, 2003 Howdy, Murph! If you're a do-it-yourselfer there's this hack-the-eTrex website that has a symbol set that you might find useful or interesting. Check out the "eTrex Hacker's Kit," too. Cheers ... ~Rich in NEPA~ --- A man with a GPS receiver knows where he is; a man with two GPS receivers is never sure. --- Quote

I don't know about the V, but I got the Vista when it 1st came out and there were more icons in it than there are now. One of the updates to the vista added the geocache and found icons and removed several others. I would say it is possable, but I have not seen anything to actually do it YET! More rules = Less fun!
