+Weber_and_Sons Posted April 9 Posted April 9 I'm planning on hiding a multicache! the problem is I live in a small town so I don't hide geocaches unless I have awesome ideas which means when hiding a multistage cache its hard to make it so it doesn't take up the whole town so my question is: how close to a physical cache/waypoint can a virtual cache/waypoint be? also in my multi cache I want to hide a virtual stage within a hundred meters of the final stage can I do that and my last question is can I hide a physical waypoint/cache next to a hidden waypoint from another cache? I checked the geocaching guidelines and they don't say anything about these specific questions. 1 Quote

From the Guidelines under Check for Minimum Distance: Virtual stages can go anywhere regardless of any other caches nearby. 1 2 Quote
+fuzziebear3 Posted April 14 Posted April 14 You can't hide a physical stage of your cache, within .1 miles of a physical stage of another cache. But virtual stages don't matter, and within your own multi, there is no required minimum distance between stages. Quote

Here is a helpful reference from the Geocache Hiding Guidelines on Cache Saturation. Also read the Help Center article, "Check for Minimum Distance." There's a link to that right in the Guidelines. 2 Quote
+JL_HSTRE Posted April 14 Posted April 14 While there is no minimum distance between Virtual Stages, you may want to space them out a little (100+ ft) just to avoid confusion between stages, such as overlapping icons on the map. 2 Quote
