Release Notes (Geocaching® app: Event Filters) - March 31, 2025

With today’s release, we are making it easier for Premium members to discover and filter events, including rare event types that are happening this year for geocaching’s 25th anniversary. This is available in the app version 9.73.0.

  • Event filtering: Premium members can now filter for all event types separately, making it easier to find events like Block Parties and Community Celebration Events. For this, all event types have been moved to their own section.
  • Additive cache type filters: This matches the filter paradigm on Geocaching.com and when you want to filter for just one cache type, it will save you one tap. ;)

I'm experiencing a glitch where if I filter by one of the specific event types, then I go back into the filter and press the reset button, the only caches that remain visible are the events I previously filtered for. The only way to reset it appears to be to log out and lock back in.

Are you remembering to hit the apply button after you hit the reset button? I just checked it out on my app and it seemed to work okay. I filtered for just two event types. Looked at the map. When I hit reset,  everything showed back up again.
