The A-Team Posted March 29 Posted March 29 I started noticing issues on Wednesday, but wasn't on earlier in the week and the issues may have started before that. The Waymarking site in general just seems to be running really slow. Pages take far longer to load, like clicking to the "Preview and Submit" page taking 79 seconds just now. Image uploads also take many times longer than they used to. A couple of images I just uploaded took 70 and 47 seconds, respectively, where they would have been around 10 seconds max previously. Sometimes, I get a "Connection reset" error during an image upload or page access, and have also received other error messages that may be related to things just not being processed in a timely fashion (e.g. coordinates or variable contents not being saved). JavaScript is also affected. When you enter coordinates on a new Waymark, JQuery is used in the background to format them into the standard format with degree symbols, etc. This took 14 seconds just now, and sometimes fails entirely (which seems to cause the issue reported by T0SHEA here). Likewise, when selecting Canada, another JQuery script runs to update the state drop-down to provinces, and that just took 51 seconds. It just occurred to me that the issues may be limited to just one of the servers. I'll start checking to see which ones I experience the issues on. Right now, I seem to be hitting WAYMARK-WEB02. This all makes the site very frustrating to use, and is occasionally to the point of being unusable. 1 Quote
The Snowdog Posted March 29 Posted March 29 (edited) It's been like that for a couple of days now. Lots of lag, lots of failed page loads. Edited March 29 by The Snowdog Quote
The A-Team Posted March 29 Author Posted March 29 I'm now seeing the issues on WAYMARK-WEB01 too. Quote
Alfouine Posted March 29 Posted March 29 I have the same problem, more than 30 minutes to add photos and submit 3 waymarks Quote
pmaupin Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Once again, it is very difficult to open a page on the site, more than 2 minutes to validate a waymark, more than 5 to 6 minutes to load a photo. Quote
saopaulo1 Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Take forever to load coordinates. It's a hit or miss if it will work. Quote
The A-Team Posted March 29 Author Posted March 29 It's very variable. I was able to upload 4 images at the normal speed a few hours ago, but everything has slowed right down since then. Quote
Max and 99 Posted March 29 Posted March 29 (edited) Now I can't get a waymark through at all because it will not accept any coordinates. That's after waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting and waiting for the page to load. Then it tells me I must include coordinates. So I try again. And wait and wait and wait and wait. +The Snowdog Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Hmmm, someone did something because now all of the sudden it's actually fairly snappy. Quote
Torgut Posted March 29 Posted March 29 Yep, at the moment I am contemplating suspending my WM activity as the site is virtually impossible to use for most of the days. Sometimes it gets fine, but so far these periods has been temporary. It all started a couple of weeks ago, there is a topic about that. I guess the issues might be related. Quote

Max and 99 Posted March 30 Posted March 30 This morning I am finding the site very very sluggish. But looking on the bright side, I'm not getting any error messages. Quote
T0SHEA Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Wonder how my Premium Membership payments are spent? Been paying it since 2011 (14 years), do you suppose it is being spent on Humm... Slow... not quite how I would describe it. 1 Quote
The Snowdog Posted March 30 Posted March 30 Yep, it is slow again, but at least there are fewer failed page loads and error messages. Quote
The A-Team Posted April 1 Author Posted April 1 The site seems to be back to normal right now. The lack of any additional complaints through the day today also seems to imply that the issue was resolved earlier today. Quote
The Snowdog Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Back to slow load time and error pages for me today... Quote
