irvingdog
I'm a Mac guy. I'm looking at a used computer being sold by a local city hall office. It is a H/P 120 mhz, 32 Mb RAM 1.2 GB hdd and runs windows 95. Drive, monitor and keyboard. It's only use would be to upload maps to my gps using mapsource. It is beng sold in a silent auction. Any opinions on the value/price? I'm guessing it may be cheaper than buying VPC and a new Keyspan USB-PDA bundle. Quotes? Quote Link to comment
rthyen
A pc that old may not have usb on it. I wouldnt give more that $50 for it. Quote Link to comment
rghermes
I just sold a Compaq 200MMX with 32meg RAM and a 3gig harddrive for $100 on ebay. Just for reference. Can't go wrong for $50. "Indecision may or may not be my problem"----J. Buffett Quote Link to comment
+Renegade Knight
I just gave away a Pentium Pro 200 fairly well equiped. If I was lucky I would of got 100 for it. Since yours is slower I'd go with the 50 bucks MAX. There is a very high chance it won't have USB, but for my GPS V it's a serial connection anyway. Double check that before you bid. Don't go over $50. That system is so slow it would be extremly fustrating to use. Also, If you wanted to go online, I don't know any ISPs that provide software that works with Windows 95. You would be happier with some of the other computer suggestions in this thread. I'm not a Mac person but isn't there software that clones IBM? Quote Link to comment
+Dekaner
I can buy a computer with comparable specs for $25 (w/ monitor) from a local university. They hold a sale once a week. Quote Link to comment
