Hiding: Creating new waypoints incredibly slow

Hello,

 

I am creating a new Multi cache. As this is a hiking cache, it has many waypoints (around 30).

Everytime I create a new waypoint (by clicking "add waypoint") I have to about a minute while the website is working. Then again, when I have entered the coordinates and leave that data field the same happens. Then waiting time gets longer and longer the more waypoints there are. With up to 5 waypoints, it is still reasonably quick.

 

Once I created the Listing with many waypoint and I want to edit something in it, the same happens: The Listing takes ages to open. Sometimes it gets a time out and not all coordinates of the waypoints have been loaded.

 

This is not a problem with my internet or computer speed!

It seems, that everytime one waypoint coordinate is changed, there is some background processing by the website (checking for distance to other caches???). This should only been done once when the cache is saved.

 

P.s: With my 30 waypoints I have a  total wait time of around 30*2=60 minutes just looking at the spinner.

It should not take so long, but ...

 

I would argue that it is better to know sooner that there will be a problem with one or more waypoints in a big multi-cache, and that for this reason, it is good that checking is done for each point as it is entered, not after the entire series is saved.
