Almost bought a GPS today, but then... Help please!

Ok... Here is the prob. Im 13 and today I was about to buy a GPS. My father will buy it for me if he can use it too. Thats fine, but after all my reaserch, he doesnt seem to care.

 

I am hooked on the Garmin ETrex Legend, but my dad "fell in love" with the Med. Gold. I have heard bad things about the Med. Gold and don't want to get it - If you could just give a review on both, one or the other, or just tell me I should get the Legend (lol ) that would be great.

You heard something bad about the MeriGold? I heard the etrex suck in picking up singals in tree cover.
