shabbasuraj
Was the upgrade to 2.41 from 2.39 worth it? Quote Link to comment
shabbasuraj
ye the startup screen is more chunky... but who cares.... the new features are an improvement... page scroll using zoom is welcomed, but is it me or does it not work when i am in the find cities mode....? (in that particular list) lates... Quote Link to comment
+apersson850
It works when searching for nearest cities, but not when searching by name. For some peculiar reason. Garmin do say "zoom buttons can be used to page through most lists", but why it isn't all lists, well, that just beats me. Anders Quote Link to comment

+apersson850
I've updated my Vista ten times since getting it. Almost always has the new version been better than the old one. On the few occasions when they screwed up, it was in a part of the update, and it got quickly corrected. Update! It's at least no worse than five steps ahead, one back. Anders Quote Link to comment
+Rubberhead
I've had a eTrex Mariner now a Legend. I always upgrade, mostly because I'm a geek and geeks always upgrade when we have a chance. I do keep the previous versions on my computer in case I don't like the upgrade, but, so far, that's never happened. I don't think previous software versions are available on Garmin's website. +apersson850
No, previous versions aren't on Garmin's site, unless the latest is a beta version. But for the Vista, for example, you can get them all at the etrexvista group at yahoo, for example. It's also available at other places. If you have nothing else to do, you can always downgrade a lot, use it for a few minutes, and then be sooo much happier when you upgrade to todays standards again! Anders Quote Link to comment

+apersson850
Sooo, do you think I should update, then? By the way, I checked all the updates issued for the Vista, since it was first released. Up till now, they've issued about 130 changes. Almost exactly 50% of these is new features, the rest is bug fixes, including fixes of bugs introduced in the previous release... Anders Quote Link to comment
