Dropped a trackable in a cache long ago but still shows in my inventory

Years ago I left a trackable in a cache, but forgot to log it. By the time I realized it was still in my inventory, I'd forgotten where I dropped it, but I figured once someone found & logged it, it would disappear from my inventory. That has never happened, and now I'm virtually carrying around a trackable that I don't actually have. How do I fix this?

Since the system still thinks you have it, you should be able to file a 'Write Note' log, explaining the situation and asking anyone who comes across it to 'Grab' it from you, drop it into the cache in which they found it, then retrieve it to make the travel map perhaps a little more accurate. A 'Visit' log may do it, but I don't remember if Visits register on the map ro contribute mileage.

Contact the TB's owner through the TB's page and ask them to fix it, as in, 'Mark it as Missing'.

Thanks for caring about the accuracy.

If you know the approximate time frame, you could look through your Finds list to get an idea which cache you put it in.

I also think it would be good to contact the TB owner. Although, I'm not sure if marking the TB as missing will remove it from your inventory.
