[Bug] Image properties lost every time cache description is edited

This has actually been a long standing bug that I noticed years ago but never mentioned here.  It's never been discovered and fixed by Groundspeak QAs.

When you insert an image into a cache description and you set properties for it, such as alignment and white space around it, it's all well and good, but if you go back to edit the cache description later, those properties drop off and you have to set them again. Every. Single. Time.

These properties, once set, should be remembered in the editor.

Set the description to Source before submitting the page, and then minor corrections to the text can be done later without losing the image format.

But I would prefer it to work as you suggest.

Ah yes, that certainly sounds like a workaround.

I must admit that while I used to, in the days of the old cache description editor, do everything in source rather than use the WYSIWYKOG editor (that's a "kind of" I have added in there to be accurate) but now in my old age I am lazy and just want to do it the easy way.

It should be a relatively easy fix for Groundspeak anyway - I'm actually pretty surprised that this bug has been around so long...  More thorough test scripts for production releases, Groundspeak! :)

Any chance of this bug being acknowledged and put on the backlog?

I guess that there will be no fix to this because the feature is not used very much for an obvious reasons. I change to source mode if there is anything special.

At least image size is maintained but the style is not. Enough for most situations. At least they could remove the style options.

No, removing the style options would be bad.

It's nice to be able to set an image to left or right and have text wrap around it.

The editor just needs to remember what was set when displaying the existing cache description for editing.

Just wondering if there is any chance this bug could be acknowledged by Groundspeak, and maybe added to the backlog?

I've been encountering it a bit lately with some cache descriptions.  Super annoying is that the cache description text/content does not even need to be edited for the style options on the image to be lost - the mere fact the cache page has been opened for edit for other reasons like updating hint or some other property causes the image styles to be lost.

yeah it's more like you need to consider the wysiwyg editor as the 'basic' editor, and the source view as the' advanced'. If you want to do things the basic view can't do by editing the source, then you can't switch back to basic later or it removes all the 'advanced' custom code.

And it's two levels of sanitizing; basic removes anything that can't be 'viewed' in the visual editor, but when you save the listing the sanitizing is looser but final (the submitted description source code is still stripped of unsupported/disallowed code, but allows much more than the basic editor)

I hear you, but these basic image properties are part of the basic wysiwyg editor - right click on image and there are a few things there like white space around the image and left/right alignment.  It's just that whenever you edit your cache page (anything at all, not just what's in the description) it loses those properties.
