Delayed Initial Page Loads

consent.cookiebot.com calls are causing an addition 30 seconds or so to load the geocaching.com/ page.

 

I get the need for a CMP, especially with European users, but you need one that is more responsive if you're going require a response in the middle of a page load.  Same goes for any slow responding analytics tools.

You can use ad-blocker such as uBlock to suppress the analytics and cookiebot requests.

Right.  I've got cookiebot.com blocked in my router's adblock list, and all of Groundspeak's pages work just fine, without annoying questions or obvious delays.

 

HOSTS file is another easy way to block a website.  Or NoScript if you use Firefox.

Yup.  Now pointed to 0.0.0.0.
