+Goldenwattle Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 (edited) If I put in a cache code (I think it's the same with co-ords) I am limited to 750 kms, even if there are not many caches. NW Western Australia in 750kms there were only 193 caches. Meanwhile I can load the WHOLE of the Northern Territory (by loading a state), which stretches about 1,600kms in length and 928 in width, both more than the limit of 750kms. For that I got 951 cache, far more than in WA. Same, I could load the whole of Vietnam, the length of which stretches more than 750 kms. Why is the distance so limited with cache code and co-ords load? After all, we can't load more then 1000 caches at once, so the load can't cover the globe? Added: Even more extreme I could load some sub groups of caches for WA, which is about 2,500kms diagonally corner to corner. But I can't increase that cache code distance beyond 750kms (a distance some in those remote places would drive in a day, or even further). 814 caches 951 caches 193 caches & limited to 750kms Edited December 11, 2024 by Goldenwattle 1 Quote
+lee737 Posted December 11, 2024 Posted December 11, 2024 I've thought the same.... it's 2024, in an age of HD streaming and mass data, and we are still limited to a lousy 1000 cache PQ limit..... Why not 10000 or 25000?? The amount of time I have to spend fiddling about with PQs for my GPS drives me up the wall at times..... Meanwhile, Geocaching Australia, on a shoestring budget mind you - and who doesn't charge any player a penny, allows basically unlimited PQ downloads..... Quote

I was referring to the limited distance of only 750 km for a cache load, but I agree with you about the miserly 1000 caches. Many geocachers are travellers. Quote
