+Mockingbird559 Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 I wonder if I am the only one seeing this. In the last few months, I have received several Write Note logs and GS messages about my caches. Never seen or heard of this before. The notes are like this: Regarding (cache name, cache number): followed by some sort of short positive message about how much they like the cache idea or how much they enjoyed finding it. “Regarding” seems to be the operative word. It is in every such log. The writers are -generally- fairly new, but not always. Now that is fine, I guess, but all of these notes are just after a Found It log, which typically says little more than “Found It”. I appreciate a positive note, but I can’t see any reason for separating the second log or message and I am especially puzzled about the origin of this procedure. Can anyone give me an idea where and how did this get its start? Quote
+Max and 99 Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 I would think that they wanted to add more than what they put in the first log, and since you can't edit a log on the app it was easier just to add another log as a note. Quote
+MNTA Posted December 4, 2024 Posted December 4, 2024 They are clicking on the link from the cache page to message the owner. From my last EC Send Answers You Oct 5, 2024 12:40 PM Regarding Kiger Gorge (GC37E2P): As @Max and 99 said probably they wanted to add something more. 1 Quote

I use this when sending answers for Earthcaches and Virtuals and such, so they know what message is regarding. This gets auto populated in the message center: 4 Quote
