+Night Stalker
I've been told that auto-averaging is a real pain when you are geo-caching. Is there a way to turn it off on the Magellan sportrak. Would appreciate any comments by users of the Magellan as to how much of a pain it really is. Quote Link to comment
+Ranz
On the old Magellan GPS-315 the auto-averaging was a problem. You had to start moving about two miles per hour to get it to stop. Magellan came up with a firmware update that solved the problem on the 315 and added some better features to boot. The Meridians, Sportraks, and now the 315 all kick out of auto-averaging almost with a shift of the foot. It is very useful to help pinpoint your location when hiding a cache, and to help lock in to one you are trying to find. With the way Magellan has designed it now, It is only there when you want or need it. It stays out of the way when you don't. I love the feature and I'm sure you will too. At least I know it won't get in your way. Happy Caching; Quote Link to comment
