I believe you can only use the download feature if you are logged in and I seem to remember that what you are experiencing happened to me about a year ago. Here's a tip for when you do get it working : When you download waypoints, the "File Download" dialog box opens so you can save the file to disk. If you select "Open this file from present location" your PC will open "Easy GPS" and load the waypoints direct into it which saves some messing around. For some reason I have to select this twice before it works. Tim & June (Winchester) See June, I told you that sign which said 'Unsuitable for Motor Vehicles' was wrong ! Quote Link to comment

I never get offered the download box, just taken straight to the cache details page. I had a look on the page where it tells you about EasyGPS and it say it has been known to work on Netscape (eugh) and IE 5.5, Im using V6 and wondered if this was the issue? Quote Link to comment
+THE BRAMBLERS
The same sort of thing happened to me when I tried to log a cache; it just toook me back to the cache page. All I have to do is disable the anti-virus/ firewall software and then it works. Just need to remember to activate it again. This might not be the same for you but it's worth a try. +jeremyp
It's not the browser. It works for me with Netscape, IE 6 and Apple Safari. I suspect you may have some sort of IE security setting which is preventing it from working. Another issue I have come up against with IE 6 is when the cache gets full, it becomes impossible to download stuff. If you find the "delete temporary internet files" option and execute it (part of IE 6 preferences I think), that might help. ------- jeremyp The second ten million caches were the worst too. http://www.jeremyp.net/geocaching Quote Link to comment
+GeoCam
Sorted! I downloaded the EasyGPS software again and agreed to the licence etc and ran EasyGPS once, this time when i checked the boxes it offered me the downloads and populated the software. I think it must place a cookie when you agree to the licence. Quote Link to comment
+John Stead
I've had the same problem and like others found it was the firewall which was not allowing the downloads - instruct it that you are happy with the site in question and it works OK. Quote Link to comment

+Rocky Balboa
Thanx for the help everyone. Now this will make you laugh. Unfortunatly the promlem wasn't anything to do with browsers or anything technical. I had not agreed to the terms and conditions (I hold my head down in shame ) You are all quite welcome to laugh at me and call me names... Its just a hunt for a lunch box, why be so serious!?! +Daisy&me
Don't feel too bad about it, the same happened to me. It was only when I broke the habit of a lifetime and actaully read the instructions that I realised where I had gone wrong. Quote Link to comment
MCL
..I wondered if maybe they were trying to download it with the light switched off... No trees were harmed during the production of this posting, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.... Quote Link to comment
