booksncomics
There aren't many caches in a nearby town and I thought of a location that might be good for a frist cache. But I don't know if there are any premium member caches there or nearby already, so went to the planning map. I put in a location for a possible cache and the map came up with no locations. I thought that was odd, so put in the address of a known basic cache. The map still shows nothing. I must be doing something wrong, what is it? Am I supposed to assume the lotus position and chant before putting in the address? What? The location nearest the basic cache is 1901 Ferris Ave, Waxahachie, TX 76651 Thanks! Quote Link to comment
+CAVinoGal
I see 8 caches near Waxahachie, TX - 5 are premium, 3 are regular traditionals, one of the premiums is a letterbox hybrid. My planning map shows this when I type in Waxahachie, TX for the location: You aren't seeing those red circles? Edited November 24 by CAVinoGal typos Quote Link to comment

What browser are you using? I've had issues with Google Chrome loading blank pages and other oddities, so I've switched to Edge for now. Are you allowing all cookies? Sometimes not allowing all cookies has caused odd behavior as well. Quote Link to comment
booksncomics
I am using Chrome. I'll try Edge. I typed in by City name and by specific address. When I put in the coordinates, a map of China came up. I'll check my cookie settings if Edge doesn't work. Thank you. Quote Link to comment
booksncomics
Cookies are allowed. I added geocaching.com to allow popups. I tried it on Edge, Firefox, and Opera. All the same. Same on my iphone with Safari. Quote Link to comment

booksncomics
I just tried it on my husband's really old desktop and a new samsung tablet, with the same results. Surely it has something to do my account then? Quote Link to comment

That is right next to Navarro college. Try zooming in. It will be helpful if you describe your work flow, step by step. Quote Link to comment

booksncomics
Got it. Logged into geocaching . com The first time, I went to bottom of page to: Geocaching Hiding Guidelines and went to link Read down to: Learn how to check for minimum distance and went to link Read down to: Use the planning map and went to link First time, I put the address of the desired locaion into the "Search Locations" search box and clicked an acceptance type button on the blank map box, then clicked the "Search button." The map came up as I pictured above. I scrolled in and I scrolled out and no blue circles appeared. Second, I put in the coordinates of the known cache, clicked "Serach" and the map that came up showed someplace in China. (Later, when I added the degree symbol, it came up as I pictured above. Still no blue circles. Third I put in the address of the building next to the cache and clicked "Search." Same map. Fourth, i put in the name of the just the city and state and clicked "Search." Same map. I scrolled in and out and nothing changed. Fifth, I did all of the above in Edge. Sixth, I did all of the above on my iphone in Safari. Seventh, I checked cookie settings of both devices. No restrictions. Even so, I manuall okay any cookies from geocaching . com. Eighth, in Firefox. Ninth, in Opera. Tenth, on my husband's 20 year old desktop pc on Edge. Eleventh, on his laptop on Chrome. Twelth, on my Samsung tablet, in Chrome. Quote Link to comment

I have to admit it took me a little effort to figure out where all those links were in the order you described. When I finally got there and clicked on the address you provided, I got the same map as cavinogal. Using chrome. Quote Link to comment
Moun10Bike
I also cannot repro this issue with my own account, but I notice that you have not set your home coordinates in your account and wonder if that might have an impact. Can you try adding them (this is done through your account settings at https://www.geocaching.com/account/settings/homelocation) and see if that fixes this issue for you? 3 Quote Link to comment
+Max and 99
This may be nothing, but the address you provided and the coordinates you provided are not very close when I do a search. I'm wondering if something is amiss with that, or just a user error on my part! Edited November 25 by Max and 99 Quote Link to comment

It's Cache GC955ZY N 32° 24.429 W 096° 50.140. I just put the cords into maps and you're right, they're not anywhere near the cache. I don't know what I did. 1 hour ago, Moun10Bike said: I also cannot repro this issue with my own account, but I notice that you have not set your home coordinates in your account and wonder if that might have an impact.
