Pond/Lake types by primary water source

From a geological perspective, is there a pond/lake categorization based on the primary source of water? For example, spring-fed vs. stream/river-fed vs. primarily precipitation-fed. I have tried researching this topic and did not find any source that seemed reliable. Most came from the perspective of those looking to build ponds. Thanks.
