+Zeryx Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 (edited) I'm hoping that somebody will have the answer to my issue. I got a new phone, Samsung Galaxy 24, an upgrade from my Samsung Galaxy 22. I used Samsung smart switch which transfers everything from one phone to the other so I've not missed installing something. I'm using Version 9.74.1 of the Geocaching app. Previously I've never had an issue adding geocaching events to my phone's calendar by clicking on "add to calendar" in the app. Since getting my new phone I'm getting this error pop up and can't for the life of me work out why. I've cleared the app cache. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I've been into settings for both the app and the calendar but can't find any settings that are wrong. Any help gratefully received Edited April 19 by Zeryx Quote

SnowstormMK Posted October 14, 2024 Posted October 14, 2024 That message comes up if we ask the OS for a calendar app and it comes up blank. Is it possible that you have not yet opened the calendar app on your new phone, do it hasn’t registered with the OS to say it handles calendar requests? Quote

I'm sorry I'm unclear what you mean by asking the OS for a calendar app. I have calendar on my phone and use it without a problem in other apps. Eg my golf club app will add tee times to the calendar. Quote

+A_E_M Posted May 10 Posted May 10 I have the same issue with my new Samsung A56 (Android 15, One UI 7.0, Geocaching App version 9.76.1). Mine is in Dutch and I get the message 'Deze functie is niet beschikbaar' which translates to 'This feature not available'. Have removed and reinstalled the geocaching app, have removed and reinstalled the calendar open, no result. This is so annoying! 1 Quote

+A_E_M Posted May 14 Posted May 14 I think I found a solution (for me, at least). I installed the official Google Calendar app from the Play Store and opened it (so not the Samsung or other third party calendar that syncs with Google). Went back the Geocaching App and tried the Add to calendar feature. This time it did come up with the request to choose which calendar to add it to. Then you can choose to make your preferred calendar the default one. Seems Geocaching App just wants the 'real deal' to be available, at least for the first request. After that it doesn't care what you use. 2 Quote
