Geocoin keeps circling my area.

I picked up a coin at a recent event but I didn’t realise until afterwards that this coin that has been travelling since 2017 keeps coming back around my area. Like I am the 3 or 4 geocacher from this area to have it over the years.

I sort of regret taking this geocoin as it keeps coming back around this area over the years, like I had discovered at International Geocaching Day and then grabbed it at an event at the end of September, and I don’t know how to make sure it keeps going towards Europe as that’s where the owners are from. I am not really travelling anywhere soon.

any tips?

Does it have a goal to travel to a specific location? If not, then I wouldn't worry about it. It's traveling. It's okay if it travels somewhere that it has traveled before.

Even if it does have a goal to travel to a specific location, were you aware of the goal when you picked it up? Was the goal on a tag of some kind that is attached to the coin? If not, then I wouldn't worry about it. It's traveling. If you feel extra generous, you could print the goal from the coin's page and attach it somehow to the coin, so future geocachers will know its goal.

The goal was “This Baby Owl wants to see as many countries as possible all over the world.

It would be nice to receive a picture now and than.

The journey will start somewhere in New Zealand during our hollyday trip.

I hope it will return to the Netherlands sometime.”

I am in Australia. I presumed travelling the world was a very general goal. The goal of travel the world is on the card with the coin.

You could, when you will-attend a future event, mention you're bringing a coin that would love to go international.  Somebody may see the note and be glad to put it in their luggage.

Somebody did that here recently, mentioned bringing a very high-mileage and old coin, in case anybody was traveling.  A week later the coin and I were in Hong Kong, and a week later yet, at an event there, I handed it to someone else who was departing shortly for Taiwan.  :)

Currently it's been kidnapped by someone who's just filling up the history pages with one power-trail dot at a time...  :(  Circling the kidnapper's area...

Tell the story of it's travels. Take photos to post on the page - don't include the tracking number.

Are you/is your area near somewhere for travellers, train station, airport?

Can you find a cache nearer? Those that are travelling may look for an easy cache whilst on their travels.

Above all Don't worry about it, it's travelling!
