+MMV04
Hi there! I've never used the forums before, so hopefully I'm doing this right haha I'm headed to Brazil from late October to mid-late December to be with my partner. I was in Brazil for about 6 months (though my Portuguese still isn't great), but I didn't get back into caching until my return to the US, so I didn't find any during my last stay. I'm currently making plans for trips during my stay and would love some advice from some Brazilian cachers! I actually hadn't realized that the APE cache is in Brazil until recently, so I'm excited to attempt it this year! We'll be staying in São Paulo so we're hoping to make a weekend trip out of it, though there's certain details I'm having a hard time finding information on. - We probably won't have access to a car and renting one seems difficult considering we're under 21. I'm aware of buses going to Capão Bonito, but I'm not sure how to get to/from the park. Typically we would just Uber, but I'm not sure of their availability there; we've had situations before where we've taken an Uber from a city to somewhere more remote, then had a hard time getting back. Are there any other alternatives? - Would it be better to get lodging in the park or in Capão Bonito? If we were to get lodging in the park, how would we go about booking it? - We're hoping to complete the entire GeoTour- is there a certain order people usually complete it in? Is it better to split it up between the 2 days we're there or could we finish it all in 1? We're hoping to take a few other weekend trips as well, so I'd love any suggestions for other areas good for caching! Last year, we did a 5 week trip down south through most of Paraná, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul, so I'd rather not go there since we've seen most of it already (with the exception of Foz do Iguaçu, which I'd love to visit but I think the flights are a bit out of our budget this year). I've also been to Rio, Paraty, Ilhabela, Campos do Jordão, Ubatuba, and Ouro Preto, but wouldn't mind going back because these were shorter visits so we weren't able to do everything on our lists. Sorry this is a lot- thanks in advance if anyone reads this Quote Link to comment

It's better to stay on Intervales lodges... considering the entrance and exit hours on the park and the time for any voyage from and to Capão Bonito or Ribeirão Grande (around 20kms on dirt roads) you would limit a lot the available time to search for the caches. Even if you use both days of the weekend, it is not easy to find all the GeoTour caches, but don't forget to submit an Event and a CITO. Drop a line here and hopefully you can find any hitchhike from the paulista community. 1 Quote Link to comment

We’ll definitely stay in the park now, maybe get a ride one way then Uber & bus the other? I’ve actually never submitted an Event or CITO before so I have no clue how that works 🙈 Quote Link to comment

+Toninho
Hi there!!!!! We have a Whatsapp group of brazilians geocachers, where you will probably find someone that could give some advices, or find someone who wants to join the weekend trip to Intervales, maybe.
