+Esscafe Posted March 17, 2003 Posted March 17, 2003 Now, there seems to be a marked reluctance to talk about this subject, or is there something I don't know?? I love Geocaching, and really don' wan't to be excluded from the club. Please help. Quote
adrianjohn Posted March 17, 2003 Posted March 17, 2003 I dont understand from your comments what you wish to know, perhaps you can expand a little more. If you ask a clear question people are usually very willing to offer answers. Quote
+naffita Posted March 17, 2003 Posted March 17, 2003 There is a long thread on this forum about 'what makes a good cache?' naffita Quote

el10t Posted March 17, 2003 Posted March 17, 2003 Naah - its "d" But seriously, if you're talking about this question you asked before, then note that I gave a completely un-reluctant answer. Rich mobilis in mobili Quote
adrianjohn Posted March 17, 2003 Posted March 17, 2003 Your other thread was asking about permissions, it is true the guidelines say you should obtain permission. I think I can say that in many cases permission is seldom asked for and the cache is just placed. There are many threads which have discussed this subject and you can search for and read them if you wish, from there draw your own conclusions. If you consider where you want to place a cache needs permission then go ahead and ask before you place it. Quote
+The Targett Family Posted March 18, 2003 Posted March 18, 2003 From my interpretation of the rules a caches can actually placed anywere you want . Privat land needs approval for the owners & forestry commision land in out if bounds, as it now has a blanket block on GoeC's being placed on it's land even after all of Tim & Junes hard work. I hope this answers your question. Kids Caches and Mayhem what a day in the celtic tribal city. Quote

I don't think that's right - there's no blanket block, but there's no blanket approval either. quote:Originally posted by Tim & June:We are in no worse a position now that we were before. Moss Trooper Posted March 18, 2003 Posted March 18, 2003 Thats correct SimonG.. They have not banned the placement of caches.. but have not agreed to the placement of them either. Moss de Boss... Sorta Quote
+Tim & June Posted March 18, 2003 Posted March 18, 2003 We did not think a long detailed answer was suitable here so we have emailed esscafe direct and hopefully address all his questions. We would also like to reiterate when it comes to placing caches just carry on as before. Tim & June (Winchester) See June, I told you that sign which said 'Unsuitable for Motor Vehicles' was wrong !
