+Pharisee Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 Naomi Bear, daughter of Gulliver, is about to embark on her first adventure. As you may, or may not know, this little bear is a travel bug owned by the children of Naomi House Children's Hospice in Winchester. If anyone would like to follow her adventures and add her to their 'Watch List', her reference number is TB437E John Wild Tupperware Hunter Quote
Slytherin Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 How is the beheaded bear coming along? Alex. Quote
+Pharisee Posted January 24, 2003 Author Posted January 24, 2003 The poor little bu***r was probably so disappointed at being dropped into a Hornets Nest the she commited suicide John Wild Tupperware Hunter Quote

+Pharisee Posted January 24, 2003 Author Posted January 24, 2003 Strange how forum threads 'evolve'... This one went fron an innocent note about a toy bear in Winchester to a grisly suicide in Newcastle in just 7 posts. That's good going by anyone's standards John Wild Tupperware Hunter Quote
el10t Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 I don't mean to prolong this rather gruesome thread, but are you trying to tell me the bear used the contents of the cache - log book, pencil, a few toys etc - to build itself a home-made guillotine to carry out its final deed? I think thats pushing things beyond the bounds of credibility, unless of course it was a member of the A-team. Rich mobilis in mobili Quote
Slytherin Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 Maybe it used the blade from the pencil sharpener. Quote
el10t Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 Wouldn't it just end up with a cone-shaped head? Rich mobilis in mobili Quote

I don't think you can track a bug using the TB number. Try this. http://www.geocaching.com/track/track_detail.asp?ID=17278 Alex. Quote
+Tim & June Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 Well we think we figured out how it was done Lonely and afraid inside a dark box ammo, much picking and poking took place with the aid of a pencil, joy, the lid moved and with the aid of the colouring pencils inside a prop was made and the bear looked out to get his bearings. After so long in the dark daylight dazzled him, a quick movement to wipe his eyes, his arm knocked the colouring pencils out, the lid came down and before he had chance to mutter..... 'Madam Guillotine', it was gone. Tim & June (Winchester) See June, I told you that sign which said 'Unsuitable for Motor Vehicles' was wrong ! Quote
el10t Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 Oh well, at least it was mercifully quick. Silly old bear. Rich mobilis in mobili Quote
Ben Pid Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 Then on the other hand....maybe not! LoL. Missed the decapthitated bear in this cache when we did it, which is beingging to be a habit of mine! first the travel bug and now the headless bear....oh well I'll have to keep my eyes peeled in the future. -------------------------------------------------------- One ring to rule them all, One ring to find them, One ring to bring them all and in the Darkness bind them! www.buckscaching.co.uk Quote

Pharisee, it sounds like one cool bear...I hope she makes it to a cache 'up north'. I promise I'll keep all the remaining bits intact despite the scare story. Quote

+The Merman Posted January 24, 2003 Posted January 24, 2003 So Jane I bet you are missing being in sunny(sic) Bosham with this wonderful wintry weather? I see that some of the States are having their coldest weather in recorded history. (12degrees F in Florida) Nice to see you are keeping abreast of the UK forum I woke this morning and my boat was not rocking...for one horrid moment I thought I lived in a house! Quote
+ThePuddles Posted January 25, 2003 Posted January 25, 2003 Maybe the bear had watched far too many A-Team episodes and was unfortunately locked away in a box that had lots of useful apparatus. In attempting to create a giant cutting machine with which to cut his way through tupperware, he unfortunately cut his head off. Thats my explanation anyway. ------------- "I'm really looking forward to finding some geo-cash. Where can I spend it?" - My wife. Bless. Quote

The A Team may have been able to make a variety of impressive (if not ever lethal) weapons out of whatever was lying about, but they always had an oxy-acetelyne cutter and a welding torch, both of which must surely be inappropriate cache contents. ------- jeremyp The second ten million caches were the worst too. http://www.jeremyp.net/geocaching Quote
