Trying to track down an abandoned geocache

When I was up in Lake Jocassee near Jumping off Rock overlook I found geocache jammed into the rocks.  It was definitely unretrievable, so I got my hi-lift jack off my jeep and jacked up the rock to un-jam it and retrieve it.  It was a really cool puzzle tube and the last and only log entry was dated 2020.  I attempted to find it in the archives but found no geocaches in that area.  I'm trying to track down the owner.  If anyone has any leads that would be great.

Thanks!

Looking at caches in the area, I saw your log on this EarthCache.  You should change your "found it" log to a "write note," as you did not "find" the EarthCache.  This type of cache is virtual - there is no container to find, only a geology lesson to learn and report upon by sending a message to the cache owner.

I could not find any archived caches near that location which met the description you provided (single log entry from 2020).  There used to be two traditional caches within 1.5 miles of the linked EarthCache, but they were archived in 2009.  Perhaps it was a Mystery Cache or Multi-Cache with a physical location near Jumping Off Rock Overlook?  Unlikely - there has never been a non-traditional physical cache published within about five miles of the linked EarthCache.

It is possible that the cache was listed on a different listing service, or that it was hidden but never submitted for publication.  Perhaps the person who hid the cache learned that physical caches are not allowed in this area.
