+Omally Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 Few, if any, of us actually enjoy getting upset in these forums by Trolls. As many of us who post here much prefer well-reasoned argument over flame-wars, it may be of use to folks to have a look at this link originally posted by Kouros (thanks Kouros!) on the Richard & Judy thread. I suggest we read and inwardly digest the advice here and maybe, just maybe, we might all get along a bit better. Basically, don't react to fools with flame-throwers (tempting as it may seem) and they'll most likely go bother someone else. Give a Troll some sort of reaction and their need is temporarily satisfied until they need another "fix". If they get a hit from you, they know where to come back to for more... Happy reading and, above all, happy caching! <edited 'cos "fora" annoys people... tch, I dunno... > [This message was edited by Omally on May 16, 2003 at 12:52 PM.] Quote
Krazy Kats Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 Can you explain exactly what a Troll is in the context of Geocaching? I have my own ideas but as a Newbie I need clarification. Quote
+jeremyp Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 Where has this sudden irritating trend for using "fora" as the plural for "forum" come from. I think the correct plural is "forums" but I couldn't swear to it. Anybody know the answer? ------- jeremyp The second ten million caches were the worst too. http://www.gagb.org.uk Quote
+Team Paradise Posted May 16, 2003 Posted May 16, 2003 From the Merrian-Webster Online Dictionary.. Main Entry: forum Function: noun Inflected Form(s): plural: forums also fora But you're right Jeremy, it's dadgum irritating ! Quote
