Hi

Add me to the list

I have just recently purchased an etrex and hopfully will join the hunt in the very near future. (when some come my way)

I live NE London, near Epping Forest with lots of good cach spots here.

My age is 2 years off my free bus pass.

Name.. Malcolm

Call Me McDeHack..

Careful with the Epping Forest idea - I'm sure I read somewhere that a cache there was removed by a City of London Corporation employee.....

See Brad's first post in this thread.

Hi

Had my etrex almost a week now and looking forward to my first hunt (once I've found the bottle to tell the girlfriend I've spent £200 on, what I'm sure she'll think, is just another 'boy's toy').

I fully intend stashing some caches around the Malvern area in the near future, as caches seem a bit thin on the ground round here :-(

"Hi" to JasonW who found me on the US 'chatty bit' and pointed out there was a UK session!

Well Robin & June Lovelock (and family) seem to have been placing quite a number of caches 'down your way' and I think Scottworld is down there somewhere too - sure one or other of them will show up soon icon_wink.gif

I think Doomslayer.... that between Robin / June and me...you are within 20 miles of approx 15 Geocaches...

If you also count all the parts to my Multicaches...it makes about 25 actual locations.

That should keep you busy for a while..

Happy Caching...

You can put me on your list too.

I am a newbie too, and have so far found two. I just love this geocaching thing and am totally hooked. The only trouble is, finding or making the time to get out there, but it's well worth it.

Cheers,

Nick

Please add William III to your impressive list.

Me and MetalMikey will be off to our first Cache next week, with photo's to prove, along with Rainbowruby! so this list is really growing!

Cheers Will.

You can add another - me! Frankly, I think you may be about to reach a watershed wree new people are adding themselves faster than you can keep track. it's actually a concerning phenomenon - what's the ideal number of UK participants?

I'm in the same rough area as the Lovelocks but often spend weekends in Bournemouth, so I inted to start leaving some caches in that area - there are none very near at the moment and there's no loack of great locations.

Well actually it is not meant to be the definative list... rather an indication as to how many of the active geocachers use the forums, a handy thing to know if you are trying to get any information to the masses I suppose like when caches have to be archived it could stop people having wasted journeys and such. PS I try to keep it up to date when i have free time (hehe free time now what is that all about then)

PS. welcome to the sport and happy caching icon_smile.gif

Hi Jason

Has there been a cache placed in Epping forest? I have not seen one listed.

But hopfully there may be one this weekend if I can get my act together.

There was but it was removed by a City of London Corporation employee as litter - not sure if they're monitoring www.geocaching.com like some National Parks officers are in the US, or they just stumbled across it....

I've set three caches, one of which was confiscated by the Corporation of London for being "litter". This was one of my first - set in Epping Forest. Apparently, you can't stash anything there as it's against the rules. So my only advice is: hide it well (mine was inside a tree trunk!) or put it on not-so-public land - maybe off a public right of way.

Yes I know what the CONSERVATORS of the forest are like.

Many years ago Queen Victoria gave the forest to the people to enjoy.

They, the Consrvators tried to stop us flying our model planes once.

I used to spend many hours there years ago with my metal detector untill it got too popular and it was banned. (we might damage rare wild plants)

As for staching caches There are many fringes of the forest that I feel sure one could stash. Shall we see???
