+KYcachingguy
I recently adopted fifteen caches. After visiting each one for maintenance, I determined several needed to be moved. Obviously, the ones I will be moving to a completely new location will be a new cache submission. There are a couple others that I will be moving 80 feet for one and about 120 feet for another. Would those type of moves require a new cache submission (archive the old and create a new cache)? They would essentially be new hides. How soon after archiving can a new cache be submitted in the same vicinity of the old? Quote Link to comment
+Max and 99
What was the point of adopting them? It sounds like many of them are going to be archived and new hides placed. You can submit a new cache immediately after you archive one. 2 1 Quote Link to comment
+Jayeffel
I believe in the case of those caches moved less than 528 feet a coordinate editing would suffice, a note in the description of the adoption and location change could be made. You could check with the Reviewer in your area, send a message and tell what is on your mind. But it may be good to archive them and start over. That would be a clean start. Quote Link to comment

Any less than 528 feet you can use the Update Coordinates log on the existing cache. Whether the cache "should" have a coordinates updated or archive & publish new listing would depend on the hide and location. How different is it from the old location? Quote Link to comment

They gave me fifteen. It was apparent they had not been doing much if any maintenance on the hides. When I went out to do maintenance on them it was the first time I saw where they were. Well, you'll have the opportunity to play several new ones now. Quote Link to comment

How different is it from the old location? The two in question are: - Move the cache from the tree to a guardrail about 80 feet away. Container will change from a micro to a small. - Move the cache across the road to an abandoned church property. Container would change from a micro to a small. I'm leaning toward making them new caches. Edited August 8 by KYcachingguy Quote Link to comment
+Smitherington
If you make them new caches you could easily improve the quality of the caches. I like that possibility. 1 2 Quote Link to comment
+captnemo
If the new hide is a new experience from the old then archive it and do a new hide. 2 2 Quote Link to comment

Make a new experience in the same vicinity of the previous. I already have ideas. My main concern is keeping the that portion of the 127 Power Trail intact. The originals are from 2012 which could help someone with a jasmer challenge so I'm keeping eight of the originals as they are since there are no issues with those caches. Three I have already archived because I didn't like where they were located. Two were on private property (may not have been when first listed) and the third's parking was dangerously close to a busy road. I will be adding three new caches to replace those three I archived. There is a large empty portion of the 127 that could use some caches. 1 Quote Link to comment

I can't imagine there is a scarcity of hides from 2012. That said, if the cache is fine as is then I ageee no need to relist. Edited August 8 by JL_HSTRE Typo Quote Link to comment

Actually, in my area, there are only four other caches placed January 2012. Three of those are in Ohio and the one other in Kentucky I recently had to send an owner maintenance request because the cache was no longer in an "undeveloped" portion of the subdivision. I see that one getting archived. Quote Link to comment
