+SchulerM
TLDR - Need someone to take a TB from Seattle to Switzerland Hello everyone, Last summer, I had the great opportunity to visit Switzerland and do a 3-week backpacking trip around the country. However, I retrieved a Travel Bug (TB8JE6P, whose goal was to travel around the country of Switzerland) and brought it back to Seattle with me. I have been trying to find someone to take it back for almost an entire year now, but I just remembered about the geocaching forums. If anyone is in the Seattle area and is going to Switzerland in the future, I would gladly drive over so we can help this Bug get back to its country of origin. Thanks for any information, SchulerM Edited August 1 by geoawareUSA9 Changed trackable code to TB ID # Quote Link to comment
geoawareUSA9
I changed the 6-character code on the TB to the publicly visible TB on its page - please don't share TB codes in the forums. Good luck with the TB mission. 1 Quote Link to comment

We've seen a lot of Trackables not meeting their goals. It's simply what happens when humans are involved. Most TOs realize that. Instead of holding on to a Trackable you feel you made an error with for a year, it's possible it could eventually make it back to Switzerland on it's own just through normal travels. I mailed a promotion Trackable to a friend, meant for caches in Australia, but it was Retrieved and in Europe within two weeks. 1 Quote Link to comment
+Viajero Perdido
Idea, a bit of research needed. In Taipei (wrong country, I know), there's a cool letterbox that's literally a post-office box. Stage 1 has the key to the box, stage 2 is the box itself, in the post office. The listing even includes the postal address of the box, for mailing back any forgotten keys. If there's anything like that in Switzerland, you could simply mail it there. Quote Link to comment

There are/were Geocaches called "Stargates", where you could designate a destination from a list. I sent my Geocoin from Atlanta direct to Germany (was gonna send it to England, but was told that Geocoins are circulated all over Germany, that there's an active Trackable caching community). It arrived fine in Germany, then was placed back into a Stargate and sent back to Atlanta. So I retrieved it. The only Trackable I ever got back. Quote Link to comment

Logs hopelessly screwed up, still in the hands of someone on the other side of the planet, "but don't worry just wait and he'll Visit it, then I'll grab it, then you can place it." For the OP's issue, I'd instead place it into a local cache and log the drop. There are a few that are my go-to caches for that. Maybe it will eventually get to where it's going. But it sure beats making the Trackable Owner guess when I will do something. 1 Quote Link to comment
+crammerfamily
TB from Seattle to switzerland going to Switzerland in October 2024. Assuming it's not something that will fail going through customs, I can take it, but you'll need to mail it to me, I'm on the east coast.
