+jonathanatpsu Posted June 26, 2024 Posted June 26, 2024 (edited) I've noticed a gap in what will be accepted in the Churchyard Crosses and Christian Crosses categories - freestanding crosses or crucifixes in cemeteries that are not on the same property as the church. I've submitted these and had them accepted in the Churchyard Crosses category in the past, but just had one declined and saw that there have been other similar ones declined by the category recently. According to the category description, the only cemetery crosses that are accepted are war memorial crosses. The Christian Crosses category description specifically says that it will not accept crosses or crucifixes in cemeteries. So, it seems that these won't fit into either category. Therefore I'm wondering if either of the category requirements can be amended so that these can be included, or if we need to create a new category. I would prefer the former, but am wondering what others think. Thanks Edited June 26, 2024 by jonathanatpsu Quote
+RakeInTheCache Posted September 11, 2024 Posted September 11, 2024 (edited) I agree there are gaps in the options for submitting crosses. I thought to submit a very old celebrated wooden cross in the Cologne Cathedral in theWooden Church Artefacts category but you can't submit them there either. For Christian Crosses it would have to be outside and it didn't fit in the Churchyard Crosses category either. Edited September 11, 2024 by RakeInTheCache Quote
