+Geocaching HQ Posted June 6, 2024 Posted June 6, 2024 iOS - solution checker Turn this feature on, filter for caches that have the Geocaching.com solution checker, then check your solution on the waypoints screen: Open the waypoints screen of a cache that has the Geocaching.com solution checker. Tap the pencil icon to edit the posted coordinates under Existing Waypoints. Enter your coordinates and tap “Check solution”. You have ten tries per ten minutes. If you have entered the correct solution, you can save the edit to the posted coordinates. HQ will not actively participate in this thread, but will review it for feedback to assess if a feature should be further developed. Any posts in this thread should relate to features in this release. Comments unrelated to the release may be removed. Please direct unrelated comments to other appropriate threads. Thanks!
Popular Post +niraD Posted June 6, 2024 Popular Post Posted June 6, 2024 I'm an Android user, so I can't test this iOS feature. But just out of curiosity... Would it be possible to add a warning if new geocachers (or even not-so-new geocachers) try to navigate to a cache with the solution checker enabled, but they haven't set corrected coordinates or used the solution checker (on the web site or on a mobile device)? 7 1 4

I completely agree, this would be super helpful to reduce the number of new cachers searching at the wrong location. It would reduce frustration and might prevent searching in dangerous areas such as highway interchanges or confusion as to why on earth there’s 4 geocaches hidden in the middle of a lake.
+-OZZ- Posted August 26, 2024 Posted August 26, 2024 (edited) I turned on this experimental feature and tried to find a results checker without looking at the release notes. Couldn’t find it. I would have expected to find it on the cache description page or on the add my waypoint section. Edited August 26, 2024 by -OZZ- 1 1
