+nottins Posted May 17, 2024 Posted May 17, 2024 I have a cache log that on the website shows I found the cache on 07/08/2018 (UK date format) https://www.geocaching.com/live/log/GLWPA9NR However my "My Finds" PQ changes the date to 08/08/2018 in GSAK. I've checked the GPX file and it has the date as: <Groundspeak:log id="793200653"> <Groundspeak:date>2018-08-08T00:00:00Z</Groundspeak:date> I'm able to get the correct date into GSAK by the "Get recent logs" option. Is there a way to get this corrected in the Geocaching database? Quote

+SurdiVisio Posted August 2, 2024 Posted August 2, 2024 I have the same problem. Basically it can be a timing issue where you found the cache just before or after midnight during a daytime saving zone. When I later run 'My Finds' pocket query, all log entries are based on standard time zones where found. Not a problem at Project GC as that get data directly from geocaching.com. However a problem at other sites (e.g. GSAK, mygeocachingprofile or own spreadsheets) as the pocket queries don't account for daylight saving periods. I am loathe to edit my finds via the website dashboard (or Cachly) to adjust the times by an hour earlier or later. Some finders do write "here's me geocaching just before midnight, to keep our streak unbroken". For now, I gotta find a way to edit these logs within my downloaded 'My Finds' query, before uploading these to mygeocachingprofile. Not sure if it works if I edit these via my personal GSAK database, before exporting? Quote
+SurdiVisio Posted August 13, 2024 Posted August 13, 2024 For those keen to work out how to overcome - I edited those 2 found logs to a day earlier. And reedited back to the original found dates. Thence I used Cachly to finetune the times from 00:00 to 23:xx. Problem solved as my computer is now on standard time zone for these 2 finds. Thanks to mygeocachingprofile team for this suggestion.
