pepperpot
I thought my kids could go through some batteries, untill I bought my GPS that is. I have an Etrex Legend, and I am wondering which are the best rechargables for it? Also, because they are not cheap does anyone know a inexpensive place to get them from. All the best Pepperpot Pepperpot is actually my dog, she's a miniature schnauzer that comes on all our cache hunts. Quote Link to comment
+Hi-Tek
There have been previous threads on this topic. But here's some info for you. After a bit of searching around I ended up purchasing the items listed below, the prices were about the best I could find and the postage charge was under a £1 for internet orders. I use this charger ... http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=&products_id=64325 ... and have 12 of these 2000mAh batteries ... http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_5_503&products_id=5934 ... and keep the 'spares' in one of these ... http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_5_503&products_id=9165 Our Legend runs all day on a fully charged set of batteries (though we also have a car power lead when driving). Note - I have no connection with the company - I'm a satisfied customer. "Fear is temporary, regret is permanent!" motley. adj. varied in appearance or character. crew. n. group of people. +John Stead
I can endorse the Motley Crew's experience and I too have no link with the company they mention. This combination of charger and batteries saves a lot of hassle carrying lots of spares. Quote Link to comment

It now seems from the current ad that the batteries are no longer included . So the better deal would seem to be the one NaeFearJustBeer has identified. It is well worth the investment when you consider that a pack of Duracell M3's will give you little change from a fiver. The charger is really quick (A couple of hours), it has a cigar lighter adapter (As well as mains) and shuts off/indicates when the batteries are charged. You can opt to charge 2 or 4 batteries at a time. In a full days caching I will only need to change the batteries perhaps once with the 2000mAh batteries that come with it. You may want to look out for this product on eBay. My friend got his from there and saved himself a tenner.
