Well just lookin at the North of England, there is nothin between M62 an A69. This works out roughly to 7454 sq miles.. give or take an inch!!!

Devon and Cornwall aint got nothin while Wales an Scotland have only a few.

Dont think we have hit critical mass yet..

A lot of it's under FMD restrictions again though (in the so-called "Red Box" or the "Blue Box") icon_frown.gif

Well I'll attempt to put some of that right w/c September 17th - I've got a couple of ideas for placing them in North Wales, as has Emma (BumbleBee)

West Yorkshire will have some soon. got the locations planned, got the boxes, got the pencils and log books, just short of stuff to go in them. Hopefully that will be resolved by the end of the week.

Absolutely brilliant fun!! Only got my etrex a couple of days ago and found our first cache today - it was a virgin site!!!!!!

It will need an even spread across the UK to achieve critical mass but we'll be doing our bit here in "The Garden of England".

JasonW has persuaded me to visit your cache in the near future as it's only about 10 minutes away from me. icon_smile.gif

I'll probably have to go after work one of the days this week. Trouble is the park might actually be quite busy- It's alright for you, there aren't any *people* up North to ask what you're up to. Except maybe that one policeman... icon_wink.gif

Yeah, I live in Halesowen, but it's the Quinton end so Bearwood really is only about 10-15 minutes away from here...

The ones I believe to be inside restricted areas at this stage (based on information from here, geocaching.com and DEFRA):

Hill Top Trouble

Reivers Revenge (only accessible from the Scottish side)

Where's George's Kidney Stone (ditto)

DEFRA is the Department for the Environment Food & Rural Affairs - they're the one's that are allegedly stopping the spread of Foot & Mouth Disease (the ovine/bovine/porcine one rather than the one that affects humans).

As part of their measures to prevent/contain the spread of the disease they close off large areas of the countryside - some of them are in restricted areas because the restrictions change as the disease spreads (or indeed is eradicated from an area)

PS Is it not a "Canuck" ? icon_wink.gif
