+Subarite
This cache seems to be a bit of a challenge for anyone in the UK! http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=41511 Andy. Quote Link to comment

+dylanhayes
If it was logged as being in Spain I think the Gibraltarians would take the cache out at dawn and shoot it for high treason. Seriously though there is a bit of a categorisation issue with caches in overseas territories of various countries. Legally they might be in the UK or France for example, but in practical terms they could be in The Falkland Islands or Kerguelen for example. The problem would have been a lot worse in colonial days , but even now a lot of very obscure and far away islands still belong to the UK and France, although there are comparitively few caches in them. Still it would make the task for somene wishing to do every geocache in the UK just a bit harder. ******************************************************* Don't mention the mushrooms ******************************************************* Quote Link to comment
+jeremyp
Gibraltar and the Falklands are technically not in the UK which includes only Great Britain Northern Ireland and (I think) the Channel Islands. Gibraltar, incidentally, has it's own Internet domain (gi) so the logical thing would be to have a Gibraltar section in geocaching.com. ------- jeremyp The second ten million caches were the worst too. http://www.jeremyp.net/geocaching Quote Link to comment
el10t
Not sure about Channel Islands (although there is a Trivial Pursuit question that asks something about parts of UK occupied in WW2, the answer to which is the Channel Islands - I'm not sure how reliable TP is as an encyclopedia though!) crr003
The cache in the Isle of Man is under Ireland. If the geocaching countries database included the countries from the CIA webpage, this would get round these issues. Nil Satis Nisi Optimum - Everton 2 Arsenal 1 Quote Link to comment
Ben Pid
Dont agree with Jeremy because I feel that if the island is owned by the state of the country then I think it has to be in that country....IE Gibralter is in the British Empire!....besides that its the only bit of spain we got left!!! hehe Ben Piddington http://www.buckscaching.co.uk Quote Link to comment

The United Kingdom is a term that refers to a very specific set of territories of which Gibraltar is not one. They have their own government and taxes and laws. If you go there you'll find a very strange mixture of mediterranean and British culture e.g. the most common language you'll hear is Spanish, but the police look exactly like our police. ------- jeremyp The second ten million caches were the worst too. http://www.jeremyp.net/geocaching Quote Link to comment
