+Chris n Maria
Hi Folks, We were really hoping to be at the HCC event but I'm afraid we won't be there now. For the last 4 weeks Boysie has had trouble standing. Some days he is OK but others he is terrible. 2 days ago he came of the anti-inflamitories that the vet gave him and (though he was Ok last night), this morning he is in a really bad way. So we won't be there today but wish it every success and look forward to seeing the photos. Chris If only life had an undo button.... I'm afraid not Yesterday he seemed OK in the morning so Maria took him out for a short walk and he seemed OK all afternoon. By the evening he was completly unable to stand unaided, and can't even manage to step down a single step without his back legs collapsing. The vets don't have a clue and are refering him to the Royal College of Vetinarians (I think tha's how you spell it - it certainly wasn't Vegitarians!) Looks like we have only had him a few months and then broken him Chris If only life had an undo button.... London & UK Geocaching Resources: http://www.sheps.clara.net Quote Link to comment

+Chris n Maria
Hurrah! Just to let those who asked know. It looks like we finally have our old dog back. After 2 months of him lagging behind us looking sorry for himself wherever we went, this weekend he was running about like his old self. Chuffed to bits Chris If only life had an undo button.... +Chris n Maria
Woof!Woof! Boysie says thanks. And to all you dog owners (and humans), it would appear that glucosamine is the thing that has done the trick (along with some doggy hydrotherapy - v cute). I know what I will be taking when my joints start seizing up..... Maria If only life had an undo button.... London & UK Geocaching Resources: http://www.sheps.clara.net Quote Link to comment

+Naefearjustbeer
Glad your doggy is feeling better. I can certainly vouch for glucosamine to help the joints. I have been taking the stuff on and off for about 3 years and it helps to keep my knees free and not to painfull. Vodka seams to have the oposite effect though! +Travers
So glad to hear that Boysie is feeling a little more like his old self...arthritis can be so debilitating. Are you just using glucosamine or is it a mix with chondroitin? Quote Link to comment

+Chris n Maria
quote:Originally posted by Travers:Are you just using glucosamine or is it a mix with chondroitin? It is a mix with chondroitin, - the product name is Cosequin. Apparently he is pre - arthritic(from x-rays!), but it certainly seems to be working! As vodka won't work I suppose I'll have to drink that! The hydrotherapy is in a small pool, where he is kitted out with a doggy swimsuit ,floats, and a pillow to keep his ears dry. Unfortunately he is a paddler , not swimmer, by nature, so doesn't like it. We all get very wet when he is in there. Maria If only life had an undo button.... As for the hydrotherapy - probably, as long as ther isn't a spine problem. We checked with our vet before taking him. Is your cat having problems? Maria If only life had an undo button.... adrianjohn
Hi Chris n Maria, glad to hear Boysie is feeling a bit better. My Mums spaniel suffered with arthritis in his hips and leg joints but still managed to live to the ripe old age of fifteen, which is pretty old for a dog. Have boots and GPSr, will cache for fun! +djh
Great to hear Boysie is feeling better, We have been thinking of him, We had a cocker spaniel “Sophie” who suffered from arthritis in her later years, she lived on to the great age of 13. Millie gave her a new lease of life during her last year (as well as the medication) DJH and of course Millie Quote Link to comment
