Guest lemdip
Went to look for my first cache yesterday at St Andrews, Out Head. Sadly, I had no luck. I've got pics of where I was looking, so if someone,(JasonW, Moss) want to confirm whether I was looking in the right place I'd be grateful. Had a great day otherwise, near to where I grew up so I know the place well. Quote Link to comment

Guest lemdip
sounds like the spot, maybe I just need specs! Quote Link to comment
Guest JasonW
When I found it, it was in the bottom of a tree/bush in a dip, think it was next to a gorse bush - not sure what sort of tree mind, but definitely not prickly Quote Link to comment

Guest lemdip
yeh, that sounds like the same spot I was at. Plenty gorse bushes but one small tree amongst them. Big dip in dunes leading down to the gorse and tree etc. I obviously just wasn't looking hard enough. As it was my first hunt I wasn't sure how far to stray from the exact co-ordinates. I spent a good hour and a half looking and only found an empty chinese takeaway container and a golf ball! I'll try again another time. Quote Link to comment
Guest lemdip
seems someone else tried to find the cache the day after me,.... and also failed. Has it been nabbed? Quote Link to comment
Guest JasonW
It could be - the cache owner should be back in the country soon (he's a student at St. Andrews uni) - try dropping him an email via geocaching.com Quote Link to comment

Guest lemdip
So, sadly the cache owner has confirmed it's gone But at least I'm not a complete failure on my first cache Looks like a new cache will be placed in the same area though Quote Link to comment

Guest lemdip
you've got a good memory for bushes? Do you have a photo gallery marked 'BUSHES I HAVE VISTED' Quote Link to comment
Guest Monz
There has got to be a joke there somewhere to do with bushes and bee stings but I'll resist the urge Quote Link to comment
Guest JasonW
I can't resist the urge...... to ask where the bee stings came from ? Quote Link to comment
