+Kouros Posted November 4, 2002 Posted November 4, 2002 I've been contacted by the regional "Inside Out" programme from the BBC about doing an item on geocaching. Alright, alright, I contacted them first, but that's beside the point... Basically, they're very interested in doing a feature. They like the idea that Geocaching promotes being kind to the environment, gets kids outdoors, and is a family activity etc. However, me being me, and being rather shy, I don't really fancy being filmed for it. I know a few of you on these forums have done these sorts of things before, I wondered if any would be interested in doing it again... especially those of you who do cache in families (As I tend to do it alone). Although the show is regional (the Southern show contacted me) I would hazard a guess that anyone would be able to take part, as Inside Out is made nationally. If you're interested, please let me know, and I'll forward you to the relevant people! +Tim & June Posted November 4, 2002 Posted November 4, 2002 Nothing against the volunteers above but I rekon we already have some experienced TV stars in our midst. Team Tate did such a fantastic job with Carlton TV, can't we ask them to do the same again. They have all the qualities, including the kiddies. If they want some old git's as well, well there's plenty of those in this game C'mon Team Tate, whaddya reckon ? Tim & June (Winchester) See June, I told you that sign which said 'Unsuitable for Motor Vehicles' was wrong ! Quote
+Kouros Posted November 4, 2002 Author Posted November 4, 2002 Thanks for everyone's response... I'll talk to the nice lady at the Beeb tomorrow. I reckon they might want to talk to a few of us... it gives a nice community atmosphere. ------ O God, I could be bounded in a nutshell, and count myself a king of infinite space, were it not that I have bad dreams. +Nia Posted November 4, 2002 Posted November 4, 2002 Yes Team Tate go for it. You can borrow Kerry if if Becky wants any support. Tech-no notice Quote
+Richard & Beth Posted November 4, 2002 Posted November 4, 2002 I think that Inside Out is just a title for a different show in each region. In Arborfield we get both BBC South, and BBC London, and the two versions of Inside Out are totally different between the two regions. Anyway, what about seeing if they can cover the upcoming CIN Foxhunt as it passes through the area? Richard Quote

Yeah, it is a different show for each region... that said, if they pick up on the fact that Geocaching is played across the country, they *might* want to talk to others from elsewhere, to produce a segment for other shows. +cone_dxf & family Posted November 7, 2002 Posted November 7, 2002 We might be up for it as well, I can just imagine a great shot of the family laughing as I hurtle down a chalky railway enbankment, face first I can even imagine the interview with Mrs dxf where she happily recounts how I did that last time as well. What do you think ? Mark Quote
Team Tate Posted November 7, 2002 Posted November 7, 2002 Having discussed this wilthe family in a calm and friendly manner, the kids decided that it would be BRILLIANT to take part. My (personal) concern is that having done this with another TV company before, I don't want anyone to think we are trying to hog the limelight. If there are no objections, Team Tate are more than willing to take part. Best regards, Bob, Sarah, Beckie and George Team Tate Remember - if it's moving, it's not dead... Quote

I have emailed the lady concerned (she might have replied but the email server I use is down) but maybe we can get together on this? Could be fun. BTW: have you got my email on Moors Valley CP? Not had any reply from you yet - maybe you could ring me sometime (01962 885696) Paul Team Blitz No, I gave YOU the spare batteries.... Quote
+John Stead Posted November 7, 2002 Posted November 7, 2002 If TeamTate do as good a job this time as they did before noone is going to accuse them of hogging it - go for it! Quote
MCL Posted November 9, 2002 Posted November 9, 2002 As Pid suggested above, MCL is up for it. Just tell me where and when. Since my starring appearance in the Channel Four News, about 5 years ago, my TV career has been going downhill a bit so it could do with a bit of a boost.... No trees were harmed during the production of this posting, but a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.... Quote
