+Nia
I have a list of waypoints (SU xxxxx xxxxx)I want to enter into my GPSr (eTrex) I have set the GPSr to British Grid, and can enter one at a time, buy editing. This is painfully slow. I have tried using: Easy GPS - Does not accept BG Waypoint+ - ditto Waypoint Workbench - Allthough it converts TO BG it does not seem to convert FROM BG to anything. Correct me if this is wrong. Any ideas please Tech-no notice Quote Link to comment
ewanp
Try Gartrip. This allows the entry of way points in GP Grid and will convert to Lat/Long. The mapping and traklog function is very good. There is free download version that has limited saving, but unlimited GPSr upload/download, and it is very cheap to register. When cacheing we tend to scan a map of the cache site, then print this at high resolution (1:11500 or so) with cache location shown. To be honest some of caches we could have done with just this pintout and the description, however for sites like Holkham Haul you need the GPSr as there are no destinctive features. All the best EAP Quote Link to comment
+Chris n Maria
Enter the referencre in the column marked UK Grid (6 8 or 10 figure). In the format SU 12324 5678 and press fill in the blanks. If you can't get it working - send me a copy of the spreadsheet with the data in it and I will see what is going wrong...it i what it is design to do. Bear rescues a speciality! +Omally
You could use GPSU to manage waypoints in OSGB. You can download the freeware version here which is limited compared to the $40 registered version, but it's still a jolly handy lil program Neutiquam erro. Quote Link to comment
+stu_and_sarah
don't forget to check that the different datum of OS (OSGB) vs. Geocaching (WGS84) is set by whatever method you use. Quote Link to comment
