Guest Postie Posted February 17, 2002 Posted February 17, 2002 Does anyone have a signature item which they leave at each of the caches they `do`. A guy in USA makes button badges and leaves them in all his caches. http://forums.Groundspeak.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/001929.html Quote
Guest Moss Trooper Posted February 17, 2002 Posted February 17, 2002 I don't leave an item but I stamp the log book with my rubber stamp http://www.staff.ncl.ac.uk/ian.paterson/trooper.jpg Cost me about 25 quid, it's a self inking job. I also make up keyrings an drop them in a cache. Moss Quote

Guest LazyLeopard Posted February 18, 2002 Posted February 18, 2002 I've got a paw-print stamp which I use to mark my page in the log book (if I havn't left the stamp pad at home). I guess I could make myself up some button badges, as I have access to a badge maker. Just a question of coming up with a design... ------------------ Purrs... +Chooch Posted March 22, 2002 Posted March 22, 2002 I've been using miniature bird houses as trail markers and, with a batch left over, I'm going to use them as signature items. They measure 1x1x2 in. so they don't take up too much cache space and at the rate I'm finding caches lately they should last quite a while! Quote
the tapir Posted March 22, 2002 Posted March 22, 2002 I've been using pure silver US Half Dollars (discontinued in 1965). Some of them are almost 70 years old. They're a token of my former homeland and, I think, something quite cool for both adults and children. I know I'd be happy to find one! Only trouble is ... I've got a limited supply (about 25 left). I do look forward to seeing in what other caches they might show up ... sort of like an unofficial travel bug network. Let me know if you find any! gscott_burgess@yahoo.co.uk aka .... the tapir Quote
+Nia Posted March 22, 2002 Posted March 22, 2002 Yes we do. It is a small bottle of 'Smiley Bubbles' We have left over 30 in various caches so far, BUT the shop has now sold out. I think we bought them all. Quote

+Masher Posted March 23, 2002 Posted March 23, 2002 A chap who goes by the caching handle of "TheOrangeHeadedFourInchScrew" has a habit of leaving orange headed four inch screws in all the caches he visits! :0) Tried to think of something similar for myself, but couldn't come up with anything quite so apt. +Tim & June Posted April 17, 2002 Posted April 17, 2002 Ok, well here we are just two caches away from our 100th and so we decided to celebrate the next 100 by buying 100 Teddy Bears (guess June is the boss here then). As well as the usual swaps, these Teddys along with a 'calling card' will be our signature item and go into all the caches we visit (providing there is space of course) until they are all gone. The first one will appear in our 100th cache along with a Silver Jubilee Crown. We have decided not to say when, but we will say where our 100th will be. It seems fitting to do one of Dave & Nicky's caches because they have also done 100, (I know Kimrobin have but they are farther away). So keep an eye on the logs for Windmill Hill, Avebury (Wilts) [This message was edited by Tim & June on April 17, 2002 at 02:00 AM.] Quote
