+peacefulclimber
I have several trackables that I am getting ready to drop in different caches near me, but I am bit confused by the Love Lock trackables. If someone could tell me anything and everything about them, I would be so so so appreciative! Are they meant to move like other trackables? Do you leave one of the keys? Are these left in caches? I am newer to geocaching and fairly clueless. Help please! Quote Link to comment

Lovers at a bridge, for example, lock it to a bridge cable or a fence or something, to show their enduring love for each other, and throw away the key. In the case of leaving it in a Geocache to travel, you might lock it, even lock it onto a Travel Bug dogtag if you can drill a ginormous hole for it. Or attach it somehow. But don't provide the key. 1 1 Quote Link to comment
+cerberus1
AFAIK it's simply a trackable used like any other. If you were going to send it out, I'd lock it and keep the keys... Looks (to me) to be a fun item to secure a bag or ammo can used for a collection at an event. I've never seen one in a cache/"hotel". The heft alone might make me just Discover it in caches. At least you'll know it's still there... Quote Link to comment

K - If you lock it to a dogtag as you suggest, then you're creating yet ANOTHER new-fangled thingamabob: "Eternal Trackable TravelBuddies". The Lock would be a TB with a tracking code, and the DOGTAG would be a TB with its own tracking code! Find it? Log 'em both! They'd have to travel together. INseperable. Awww, that's cute. "What a TO has put together, let no man put asunder." I'd get a kick out of finding it, er, 'them'. Man, I could carry this joke on for a while, but I'll spare y'all. -------------------------- PS - If this actually becomes a thing, then I want credit for the concept. And a piece of the sales revenue. You're all witnesses. 1 1 Quote Link to comment

I do think it would be asking for trouble to include a key... unless the mission is for it to be locked to something... Edited September 9 by kunarion Quote Link to comment

Yeah, I left it there. Quote Link to comment
