I've got the basic Etrex and there's two cables you can use. The PC cable is R420 and the Data Cable is R250. Well that was six months ago's pricing anyway. The PC Cable is ready to use. The Data Cable you need to solder your own 9 pin serial port on. That's the route I went, using an old mouse. No way I was prepared to pay R170 for a plug. Re software, there's plenty available.
