+digby645
Has there ever been an event just for geopets and their owners that have trackables on their pet's collars to gather and be logged? I think it would be a fun event at a dog park or cat cafe. Any thoughts on the idea? 2 Quote Link to comment
+cerberus1
I'm not "keen" on the idea... "Just for..." I feel might be an issue. I don't own a dog, but I like dogs and I will be attending... If you center only on owners with trackables on their pet's collars, you might have cut off half the cachers that cache with their pets. We bump into them enough that we started carrying treats in our packs JIC... We've attended events in dog parks. It's important to know which one on the ground is the log. 1 Quote Link to comment
+TeamRabbitRun
The whole 'trackable' thing is a staple at Events. Every one I've been to has a TB table or people showing off collections. That's great, and I'm an enthusiastic participant in all that but I wonder if TB-ing is so integral a part of the hobby that it would be considered an actual form of Geocaching, and therefore you couldn't hold an Event whose stated purpose is to swap & log trackables, as you couldn't hold an Event whose stated purpose is to find and log Caches. Reviewers, lackeys, pooches (some of them, anyway)? 1 Quote Link to comment

I signed the log, chatted a bit and left. I'm not a TB collector. However others there were. 1 Quote Link to comment

Point taken, I would reword it so that it’s not an exclusive event ‘just for’ but try to encourage those with pet trackables to come along. It sounds like carrying treats while caching is the way to go. Good point about the logs as well- hadn’t thought of that! Quote Link to comment

My wife's dog has allergies, so she doesn't give her anything but the kibble that has been proven not to trigger the allergies. Other owners may have trained their dogs not to accept food from anyone but them. And so on. 1 Quote Link to comment
