+NZWide
My laptop has no serial port only four usb sockets. I have tried two different usb to serial connectors with no luck. I have purchased a Eigerlabs EPX=SC2000 PCMCIA serial card but Windows XP does not recognise the drivers. Does anybody know we I can get XP drivers Another option is to buy a new card that has XP drivers can anybody tell me a source that stocks them Regards and thanks NZWide Quote Link to comment
+BigNick
I have a Keyspan USB-Serial adapter. I have not tried it on my XP laptop (I use it on my Mac) but I will try and remember to bring my laptop home from work over the weekend and test it out with Tumonz. Cheers Nick. Quote Link to comment
+swanny
I have a usb-serial adapter that works fine with XP Home and a gps. When you say "doesn't work" what does it do/have you tried? They tend to change com port number, not to mention use higher com numbers when you use different usb ports. Try setting the gps to output nmea and then open hyperterminal to see what comes out. With 4800, 8N1 (most garmin units) you should see a whole bunch of data coming in... Quote Link to comment
